A Time for Dreaming

I'm in the midst of an artist's support class which takes The Artist's Way process further and deeper. A big part of the process is dreaming... dreaming about the life you want, a new way of doing things, who you want to be. It's a beautiful process that continues to evolve. The wording is challenging, especially since dreams by nature are ethereal, constantly morphing and changing.

When I went through a similar type of exercise last year, I worked with a dream based around becoming a sculpture artist. This time around, I realized that's just an aspect of a larger lifestyle dream that involves changing the way I work and greatly reducing my travel schedule for many reasons.

Right now it reads: My dream is to celebrate the freedom of my life, cherish my artistic expressions and deepest self, and feed all the desires of my creative soul.

There are many exercises our leader has developed to continue exploring the dream, what it means, how it's realized and expressed, how it breaks down into goals... the whole process is wonderful and helpful for developing clarification.

My next project is to artistically illustrate my dream and what it means to me... which is something fun I'm looking forward to this weekend. Maybe it will even be a sculpture, although a paper image like the dandelion above has been floating through my head as well... I'll just have to see what the creative muse has in mind when the time comes.
