Walking Through the Ashes to a Brave New World
With the welcoming of a new store theme at Cult of Gemini — Golden Threads — there's much thought about what we are weaving together to build the life of our dreams. Let's take a peek at the other side and ask:
What threads (or cords) need to be released right now?
The heavy hitters have come out this week, with both 5 of Swords and Death giving the message that indeed there are cords that not only need to be released but truly need to be cut away and burned up. These cords are hindering your forward progress.
Five of Swords beckons you to relinquish any ideas holding you back. These tough places are hard to face because you must confront your own stories and expectations. Maybe you are staying in a job where you keep yourself small. Maybe you organize classes for others when you long to teach. Where, oh where, have you buried yourself in the sand and gotten stuck about ideas of what could be or could've been?Death steps in to say you must not only root this stuff out but also fully let it go. You can mourn leaving a job and all your connections there, or you can bemoan the hard work it takes to put together a class then face all those demons about whether anyone will show up. Whatever you must do, this is a time for grand gestures of releasing. In an ideal world, you let go of an old situation as you begin something new (like finding a new job before leaving the current one)... this isn't one of those times. The act of letting go will open up these new possibilities, not the other way around.This work that resides in the physical or human realm (of jobs, homes, money, bodies) actually moves our spiritual world forward, getting us closer to uniting our heart and will. This major readjustment period heads into unknown territory where you may not even recognize yourself for a while because you need to release some of those things that you've allowed to define you unnecessarily.If you are already in the thick of it, Death assures you that the more you release, the more you let die, the more room there is for New. New growth, new choices.Your only assignment is to Be Brave. Stop making choices that limit you and stunt your growth. Step towards a new kind of fear — that unfamiliar and unknown place that awakens your senses and emotions in new ways rather than shutting you down.
