New Beginnings: brick & mortar, Craftsy class launch... the power of Trust and Partnership
What are those moments during the year that give pause, encourage reflection and start us off on a new course? For me new year's is the obvious one. The more meaningful times come with the change of the seasons and around my birthday. Lately I've been learning about new moon energetics and ushering in the monthly change they bring.A tradition I've recently adopted is having a word for the year. In 2015 my word is Trust. It's been a biggie. I refer to that word a lot when things get uncomfortable. It's become a welcome mantra. This year I've embarked on so many new things. My birthday (June 17) was marked by opening a brick and mortar store — Cult of Gemini — in Grass Valley, California, with a fellow Gemini business partner. This endeavor takes a lot of trust and is so rewarding!Right after our grand opening, I whisked away to Denver to start video teaching with Craftsy. More trust... trusting in this process, this endeavor, and my abilities. Reassuring myself that I have something to share and trusting that I'm the person to do it. Craftsy has been an amazing partner!Autumn hasn't quite arrived yet, but I can already feel the changes it will bring. I'm changing my approach to jewelry. Returning to the source and accepting (and allowing) for variety, experimentation and new designs to usher in. I can see how the universe has set the stage for this exploration — having a store and video teaching actually makes me feel more nimble while also being grounded. Partners in these endeavors give me unexplainable support. From this supported place place I've been able to let go of work (actual physical pieces) and definitions of myself as an artist. I'm stepping into a place of exploration, letting go of constricting notions, and trusting that things will unfold in an interesting manner that will spark my internal flame into a blazing bonfire. What does this mean for you? Well, it means over this fall season I'll be offering sales on several pieces in my Etsy shop — there are some there now, and I'm making a push to have a big sales event in September. I'll let you know when that happens! If you love working with your hands and transforming raw material into something beautiful, sign up for my Craftsy class series.
