Creating Linus: an artist's dream

Creating Linus is a relatively new online magazine. There are actually 2 versions of it, one for artists and one for jewelers.

The jewelry version, which I've mostly flipped through in a drooling fashion, is filled with interviews with incredible talents (like Andy Cooperman and Sungyeoul Lee to name a couple) and also includes tremendously detailed how-to projects and tool information... a dream for someone like me who hasn't studied this jewelry profession full-time (those skills just are not ingrained).

Nicole Baxter is the brainchild of these publications. Subscriptions are free for 2012, so to view this year's issues simply subscribe (no credit card info needed) and start browsing, either as PDFs or on screen.

Nicole contacted me to be a feature on "The Wall" a page of intriguing jewelry snippits that link directly to the artist's Etsy shops (a dynamic advantage to online publishing)... it's a great way to delve into such a huge shopping site. She's an incredible curator.

In the September 2012 issue, Nicole selected my Long Riverstone Sculpture Hooks... also one of my personal favorite designs. I didn't even direct her what to look at; she had her own ideas.
