What can the full moon do for you?

The Full Flower Moon arrives on May 7, 2020. Full Moons provide powerful time for reflection, for what is the moon doing? The Full Moon is reflecting the light of the sun. The Moon shows you and reminds you that the sun shines brightly during the day.

Have you ever laid in bed reading and your eyes run over the same sentence again and again while your mind replays various scenarios from your day? The Full Moon is an opportunity to run this replay intentionally so you can get back to reading Sarah J. Maas with full attention.

The Moon acts as a mirror. A Full Moon holds space for you to reflect, not just for your day but for the past month or few months.

Do your actions make sense with who you say you are? and Who you want to be? Let those questions be prompts to contemplate or set a timer and do a burst of freewriting (What’s free writing? Click here for my free writing how-to video).

You can also check in on the goals you set for the month, quarter or year. Refine as needed or set new intentions if you feel out of alignment. Let this Full Moon reflection be a tune up.

DO YOU NEED MORE FOCUS FOR REFLECTION? CONSIDER THE MOON’S ZODIAC SIGN TO DIRECT YOUR EXPLORATIONS

To take the reflection deeper or give it direction, consider the zodiac sign the moon is in. The May Full Moon is in Scorpio.

Scorpio energy supports shadow work and brings consciousness to the ideal of transformation.

Scorpio is connected to both Scorpion and Eagle energy. Scorpion has stinging heat and reactionary energy. Eagle is evolved Scorpion energy.

Cool and aloof Eagle soars high above, away from drama. Eagle is gifted with eyesight and focus to hone in on whatever is most needed in the moment (whether a tasty mouse snack or some other goal that relates more to your life). The Eagle is not distracted by unnecessary things.

There's patience in this strategy — pull back, go inward and understand what you most need when you're not under the influence of pressure, distractions and drama.

The Eagle also sees what to ignore or release. Let Eagle point out what no longer serves your larger goals and dreams.

WHAT CAN YOU RELEASE TO CREATE LIGHTNESS?

The Full Moon represents the end of a cycle. The Full Moon is the height of energy. As soon as it passes, the light begins to wane or release. With the gift of that Eagle sight to see the big picture, ask yourself: What no longer serves me?

What are you holding on to that keeps you spinning and not able to pull back and make the wisest decisions for yourself?

THE EAGLE’S PERSPECTIVE PROVIDES CLARITY

If all this pulling back feels too expansive, get clear on your motivations and personal and professional values.

Your WHY keeps you out of the shadowy aspects of Scorpio so you act in alignment with your highest self. You will be proactive rather than reactive.

Want to cultivate more connection with the moon? Getting a Moon Calendar is a good first step. A Moon Calendar allows you to see the whole year at a glance (sounds like Eagle energy, eh?) as well as zoom in to the details for each day. I created a modern Moon Calendar that’s clean, simple and easy to read. Click here to see the 20/20 Vision Taming the Tangle Moon Calendar.
