The DANK Inaugural: a new collective show

I'm working on some new sculptural pieces for a show opening in July with the theme of Water. It's a group show, and we've formed a collective called DANK (click to see the list of members). It's interesting to come together as artists with the intention of creating work rather than the traditional model of creating work and then finding a way to sell/show/present that work. It feels more supportive of the creative process.DANK postcard-4inx6in-h-front copy Our show will be in a building in Nevada City that is currently vacant, so several members are designing space-specific installations. I'm excited to see how it all shakes out.Last week, four members of DANK (including myself, Sheila Cameron, Moira McLaughlin, and the show's host Reinette Senum) were on a radio show on KVMR, Nevada City's radio station, to talk about what the heck we're doing. Here's the part of the show we were on, with a little context up front from earlier in the show (the news part of the show is edited out).Listen here: And like the DANK Facebook page to see works in progress as they evolve.
