All you need is love

Artists share the love all the time by doing trades of their work with each other. I love it when a trade is mutually beneficial making everyone happy.

A few weeks ago (before all the rain started) I was cleaning up in front of my cottage gate and got a concept for an entrance filled with love. I found a cool metal heart (on the right, leaning against the tree) hidden by some bushes on the back side of my cottage, so I brought it up front.

The beaded curtain behind the gate was from the lower studio cottage... just too cute to abandon. Here's what I see everyday before I head out into the world.

And the thing that really sealed the deal for me was on the left side of the first picture... a row of X's and O's crafted in porcelain by my artist friend Yvon Dockter (who also has a selection of her metal work at Mowen Solinsky Gallery, which is how we met... you have to stop by to see her shovels!).

She was coveting my Wireball Spiral Hoops, so -- voila! -- a trade was born.

I feel pretty lucky on this whole deal, and hopefully Yvon feels the same way!
